Trusting God, Even When It Hurts

Pray
Pray

There are moments in life when the weight of it all feels unbearable. The diagnosis you never saw coming. The job loss that shakes your stability. The betrayal that slices through your heart like a blade. The silence of God when you're begging for answers.

It's in these moments—when the world feels darkest—that trusting God becomes not just a phrase we say, but a lifeline we cling to.

I won't pretend it’s easy. Trusting God when everything’s going well? That’s comfortable. But trusting Him when your prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling? When nothing makes sense? That’s the real test of faith.

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.”Job 13:15

Job said those words after losing everything—his children, his health, his wealth. He sat in ashes, broken and alone, yet he still chose to trust. Not because he understood what God was doing, but because he trusted who God was.

That’s what faith is. It’s not trust in the outcome, but in the Character of God.

We serve a God who is good even when life is not. A God who sees the end from the beginning. A God who collects every tear, hears every groan, and walks with us through every fire.

When It Hurts the Most

Jesus never promised us a life free of trouble. In fact, He said the opposite:“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Suffering is part of the journey. But so is the presence of a faithful God.

In the middle of your storm, He is there. Not always changing your circumstances, but always changing you—building endurance, deepening your roots, refining your soul.

What Trust Looks Like

Trust doesn’t mean denying your pain. It means bringing your pain to God. It’s crying out like David in the Psalms, “How long, O Lord?” and still saying, “But I will trust in Your unfailing love.”

It’s waking up every day and saying, “I don’t see the way, but I know You do.”

It’s worshiping when you feel like weeping. It’s choosing to believe in His promises when your emotions scream the opposite. It’s holding onto the truth that God is still God, even when life falls apart.

Hold On to Hope

One of the most beautiful truths of our faith is that nothing is wasted—not even the pain. God is a Redeemer. He brings beauty from ashes. He weaves every broken thread into something eternal.

Romans 8:28 reminds us:“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Not some things. All things.

So if you're in a season of darkness—don’t let go. Your story isn't over. Your God hasn’t left. There is purpose in your pain, and one day, you will see what He was doing all along.

Until then, trust Him. Even when it hurts. Especially when it hurts.

Because He is worthy. And He is with you.

Let’s Build a Prayer Group—Together

If you have room in your heart, time in your schedule, and a sincere desire to lift others up before the Lord, I invite you to join me in creating a prayer group. Leave your information if you feel called to pray—faithfully, lovingly, and in unity—for those in need. Together, we can stand in the gap, interceding for others and watching God move in powerful ways.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” – Matthew 18:20

Let’s become that gathering.

If you’d like to leave a prayer request or share a testimony of what God has done in your life, please let us know in the comments. Just specify whether it’s a prayer request or a testimony, and we’ll take it from there—lifting your needs in prayer or celebrating God's goodness with you.

We’re honored to stand with you in faith!

Your testimony is safe with us. Your story is precious, and your privacy matters. We will never share your testimony without your permission. When you submit it, please let us know whether you’re comfortable with us sharing it to encourage others—or if you prefer it to remain private.

Either way, we’re honored to hear what God is doing in your life.
